The Story of Pantolin

Paula Pantolin Biography

Paula Pantolin is a jewellery designer and third-generation artist. An aspect of every piece she creates traces back to her closest muses: her grandmother, a textile designer, and her mother, a painter. She grew up in art studios, observing her mother paint while copying her movements into a sketchbook. With her grandmother’s words etched in her mind, teaching her, “It must be as beautiful and well-made on the inside as it is on the outside,” craftwork became Paula’s chosen path and precision, her chosen tool.

After studying liberal arts and acquiring her master’s degree in silver smithing and jewellery design, Paula knew her next step was to create something of her own – so, in 2006, Pantolin came to be.

Drawing visual inspiration from her childhood memories surrounding the natural beauty of the Swedish West Coast, Paula looks to the sea, the mountains, and the rugged shapes of nature to inspire each piece and the collection that represents it. Working only with traceable stones and recycled, controlled metals, ethics, and sustainability are as inherent to Pantolin’s DNA as its originality.

Beginning in 2025, Pantolin will branch out to creating objects as well as jewellery – a nod back to her sculptural background that first taught her.

Values and Materials

Pantolin Atelier is committed to sourcing sustainable materials, working with suppliers with traceable, ethical working conditions, and Paula designs each piece in slow, circular practices – such as melting down old pieces of metal to recycle its material into something new.

Pantolin’s gemstones are all derived from certified mines, cut locally, and made to order. Every final product is free from heavy, harmful metals such as lead, nickel, and cadmium.
